Stuart, you are not cynical, you are simply correct but sadly too few in the county see the world through the same eyes as you. The Cumbria Chamber has very cleverly aligned itself to the LEP in such a way that no ones get to the LEP without going through the Chamber and the LEP can only deliver through the Chamber. So what we now have is the Chamber dictating & perhaps controlling the millions of pounds coming into the county leaving the Chamber to clearly act as the puppeteer and the likes of CREA, Furness Enterprise, etc are its puppets. What a powerful position for a membership organisation ….. but hugely dangerous for Cumbria.
