HMRC are at their most dangerous when they are being helpful
HMRC seem to be falling over themselves helping us understand when we have paid our taxes.
The latest “advice” relates to electronic payment of PAYE and points out that if the due date falls on a “non banking day” e.g. a Saturday or a Sunday then the payment must arrive with them on the Friday before.
All this help can only mean one thing though
Late payment will be penalised
And, don’t forget, HMRC don’t use the Faster Payments Service
