Comedians, accountants and tax avoidance
George Carman QC while defending Ken Dodd on charges of tax evasion said:
Some accountants are comedians, but comedians are never accountants.
Not that I’m defending Jimmy Carr but Ken Dodd was acquitted of tax evasion.
At times I think if you can show the courts you’re thick, you’ll always be acquitted, as evidenced by a high profile tax case earlier this year.
