Why does HMRC need Moira Stuart to remind us to complete our Tax Returns?
Why, whenever there is an approaching deadline for submitting your personal Tax Return, does HMRC insist on wheeling out Moira Stuart to tell us
Don’t get a penalty, do your paper return by 31 October
I dread to think how much she is being paid for this advertising campaign. Money which HMRC should be spending more effectively probably chasing the people who evade tax.
Interestingly, since April 2010 HMRC have been publishing details of transactions which exceed £25,000 but I have never seen her name in the lists. I find it difficult to believe that she is earning less than £25,000 bearing in mind all the adverts we are going to see over the next few months but I may be wrong.
In a time of HMRC job cuts I think there are better ways for HMRC to spend their money so I have asked them to confirm that her earnings were less than £25,000 and if not why her name doesn’t appear in their published data. I shall be interested in their reply.
Bearing in mind that some post takes at least 12 weeks to be answered I’m not expecting a reply this side of Christmas.
